Founded in 1987 by Dennis L. Smith and now led by Andrew Smith, Home Builders Research, Inc.
was built to fill a critical industry gap: reliable, hyper-local housing market data for Southern Nevada.
Home Builders Research, Inc. (HBR) was established in 1987 by its former President and founder, Dennis L. Smith. The company is acknowledged as the premier housing research firm for the Las Vegas housing market.
Dennis was involved in selling, marketing, and managing new housing/builder related activities for over 40 years. He is a five-term director of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.
In 2018, after 31 years, control of the company was passed to his son and current president Andrew Smith. Andrew was raised in the business and began working for the company in 2008.
HBR is regularly quoted in the regional press and Andrew is widely sought as a speaker on housing related topics in Southern Nevada, regularly addressing industry trade groups, special interest groups, directors, investors, and others seeking insight into the Las Vegas housing market.
On regular occasions by request HBR has made selected information in our databases available to the nation’s leading market research firms and, in many instances, has provided supplemental analytical input to these firms for their studies.
